Aretha Louise Franklin is an American singer and musician. She was born on March 25, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. She became prominent all throughout the years due to her impressive vocal skills which amazed millions of people. She won a total of 18 Grammy Awards and is one of the best-selling female artists of all time, having sold over 75 million records worldwide. She was also the most charted female artist in the chart’s history, having recorded albums including I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You, Lady Soul, Young, Gifted & Black, and Amazing Grace.
Throughout her career, Aretha was married twice. First was to American stuntman and actor Ted White. They got married in the year 1962. After having realized that they’re no longer happy with each other, they filed a divorce which was finalized in the year 1969.
Her second husband was the American film actor Glynn Turman. She became married to him in the year 1977. Their marriage also failed which resulted to a divorce in 1984. Aretha has four children namely Ted White Jr., Kecalf Cunningham, Edward Franklin, and Clarence Franklin.
