Carrie Marie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She’s an American country music singer, songwriter, and actress. She became famous when she first emerged the winner of the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Since becoming famous as mainstream recording artist in the music industry, Underwood has been setting and breaking records.
Due to this credited move she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry (2008) and into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in the following year. She has recently won numerous awards, which include six Grammy Awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards and seven American Music Awards, along with being voted for in a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
Underwood got engaged in 2009 with Ottawa Senators (now Nashville Predators) hockey player Mike Fisher after meeting him in late 2008, in one of her concerts. They made their first public appearance in January 2010, at the Bell Sens Soiree (which is an annual fundraiser in Gatineau for the Ottawa Senators’ official charity). After their public appearance in CMT Awards in June 2010, Underwood revealed to reporters that Fisher was preparing her a surprise honeymoon after their marriage which was scheduled to take place on july10, 2010 (a summer season).
As scheduled, Underwood and Fisher tied the knot on July 10, 2010, at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia. More than 250 people attended the wedding including National Hockey League players, as well as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, American Idol contestants, and judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson.
