Colin James Farrell is an Irish film actor. He was born on May 31, 1976 in Dublin, Ireland. The son of Rita and Eamon Farrell, he considered acting after he watched the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial which affected him. He was first seen as an actor on screen in the year 1997 when he was cast on the film Drinking Crude.
Soon after, he was seen on the TV series Ballykissangel, playing the role Danny Byrne from 1998 to 1999. In 2000, he made a huge impression when he portrayed the role Pvt. Roland Bozz on Tigerland and was awarded with Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor and London Film Critics Circle Award for Newcomer of the Year. From then on, he became one of the notoriously famous and sought-after male actors in Hollywood.
