Margaret JoBeth Williams, better known as JoBeth Williams, is an American film, television, and stage actress. She was born on December 6, 1948 in Houston, Texas, United States. She is the the daughter of Fredric Roger Williams and Frances Faye Williams. She particularly earned prominence when she appeared on several films including Stir Crazy in 1980, Poltergeist in 1982, The Big Chill in 1983, The Day After in 1983, Teachers in 1984, and Poltergeist II: The Other Side in 1986.
She is also well-recognized for being a three-time Emmy Award nominee and a nominee forfor Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her impressive performance on the film the Adam in the year 1983 as well as on the TV miniseries Baby M in the year 1988.
