American pop singer, songwriter, and actress Katharine Hope McPhee was born on March 25, 1984 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of TV producer Daniel McPhee and wife Peisha McPhee. She started to get noticed when she joined the reality talent competition American Idol in 2005. After auditioning in San Francisco with Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child”, she qualified for the fifth season of the said competition. All throughout the show, she became one of the judges’ favorites. She was able to sing “Since I Fell for You”, “All in Love is Fair”, “The Voice Within”,”I Have Nothing”, and several other songs each round. She became remarkable in the end when she landed the top two and won a runner up next to the winner Taylor Hicks. Soon after, she was able to land an album which made her become a notable recording artist in Hollywood.
After two years of dating Nick Cokas, she said ‘yes’ when he proposed to her to get married. On February 2, 2008 they became officially husband and wife at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church. They seemed to have a good married life but then Katharine became the talk of the Hollywood in 2013 when a picture of her making out with Smash director Michael Morris went out in public. This incident became the reason why her marriage to Nick turned into a mess.
In the end the couple decided to separate and file a divorce on May 22, 2014. These days, Katharine is reportedly dating “Scorpion” actor Elyes Gabel.
