She was born on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California to parents Maurice Keith Hudson and Mary Christine Perry. Before she got famous, she experienced three record deals failures. She finally made a breakthrough in 2007 when she signed to Capitol. Afterwards, she was able to bring her first single “Ur So Gay”. It was when she released her hit song “I Kissed a Girl” when she finally had her career skyrocketed. Soon after, she was able to land series of albums. In 2010, she published her album Teenage Dreams.
Katy dated the singer John Mayer for about two years from 2012. Their relationship was not hidden in public. They even went together for guestings, shows, and concerts. The couple was also known to have worked together for a song that particularly talks about their relationship. Much to their fans disappointment, the couple parted ways earlier this year.
