Kevin McKidd is a Scottish television and film actor, director, and an occasional singer. He was born on August 9, 1973 in Elgin, United Kingdom. The son of Kathleen McKidd and Neil McKidd, he started to appear on screen as an actor in the year 1996, portraying roles on the TV show Father Ted as well as on the flick Small Faces.
In the year 1988, he became remarkable when he won the International Fantasy Film Award – Best Actor for his impressive performance on The Acid House. He also earned a nomination for BAFTA Scotland – Best Actor in a Scottish Film and British Independent Film Award Best Actor for his portrayal on 16 Years of Alcohol. In 2010, his career became even more successful for his role Poseidon on the film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. He also became famous for his appearances on the TV series Rome. Presently, he appears on the TV series Grey’s Anatomy, playing the role Dr. Owen Hunt.
Nowadays, he is happily married to his wife Jane McKidd. They are blissfully living together with their two kids namely Joseph and Iona. He was not linked to any celebrity or personality all throughout his career.
