Canadian actress Kristin Laura Kreuk was born on December 30, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her parents Peter Kreuk and Deanna Che are both landscape architects. Growing up, she engaged herself in karate and gymnastics. She originally planned to pursue a degree in forensic science or psychology but changed her mind when acting opportunities called on her.
From 2001 to 2005, she acted the role Laurel Yeung on the TV series Edgemont. She also became prominent for her role Lana Lang on Smallville. Presently, she stars on the TV series Beauty & the Beast, playing the role Catherine Chandler. The said TV series earned her a People’s Choice Award – Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress and a nomination for Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress Fantasy/Sci-Fi in 2012 and 2013.
The actress is currently dating actor Mark Hildreth. They started seeing each other in September 2004.
