She is famous for her role Lorelai Gilmore on the WB Network dramedy series Gilmore Girls and Sarah Braverman on Parenthood. She first gained attention when she was cast on the TV series Caroline in the City wherein she portrayed the role Shelly from 1995 to 1996.
She then gained more prominence when she acted the role Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls from 2000 to 2007. She also became part of the TV series Parenthood from 2010 to 2015. Presently, she appears on The Odd Couple, playing the role Gaby Madison.
