Welsh actor Matthew Rhys, originally Matthew Rhys Evans, was born on November 8, 1974 in Cardiff, United Kingdom to parents Helen Evans and Glyn Evans. He started doing acting jobs in the year 1997, particularly portraying a significant role on stage for Cardiff East. He was then seen on screen in the year 1999, playing the role Ray Smith on Whatever Happened to Harold Smith? as well as on the American-Italian-British fantasy film Whatever Happened to Harold Smith? wherein he played the role Demetrius.
In 2000, he lent his voice for the TV series A History of Britain. He then became more popular when he was cast on the TV series Brothers & Sisters by which he acted as Kevin Walker from 2006 to 2011. Presently, he appears on the TV series The Americans and plays the role Philip Jennings. This TV series, by the way, earned him a nomination for Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Drama Actor.
Since 2013, he has been dating his co-star on Americans, Kerri Russell. Their relatioanship, as a matter of fact, continues to become stronger. Previously, he had a relatiosnhip with actress Sienna Miller. They particularly dated in the year 2007.
