The son of Pat Madden and Richard Madden, he is the brother of Cara Madden and Lauren Madden. he started to get attention in television in the year 1999, appearing on the TV series Barmy Aunt Boomerang as Sebastian Simpkins.
He soon had appearances on the TV series Game of Thrones, acting the role Robb Stark from the year 2011 to 2013. In the said TV series, he won the Screen International Award for Star of Tomorrow award.
