Born in Pittsburgh on June 2, 1977, Zachary John Quinto is an American actor and movie producer. He was part of the cast in the drama series “24”, the sitcom “So NoTORIous” and the science fiction drama “Heroes”. The actor took the role of Spock in 2009 Star Trek movie and its sequel of 2013, “Trek Into Darkness”. His has also appeared in “American Horror Story”. Quinto’s father, who died of cancer when the actor was seven years old, was of Italian descent while his mother has Irish roots.
2011 was a defining year in Quinto’s personal life. In October that year, the actor came out as gay. He said the suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer, a gay teenager made him realize it was not enough to live a gay life and not publicly acknowledge it in efforts to bring equality across the board over people’s sexuality. Quinto was said to have been dating Jonathan Groff in 2010. The actor did not confirm the rumours until September 2012, but it was reported in July 2013 that the two had broken up.
