Born in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1980, Zooey Claire Deschanel is an American actress, singer-songwriter and musician. Her film debut was in 1999 in the movie “Mumford”. Howeever, she got her big break in the film “Almost Famous”. Other films she has been casted include “The Good Girl”, “Elf”, “Failure to Launch”, “(500) Days of Summer” and “Yes Man”.
As a musician, Zooey plays the keyboard, banjo, percussion and ukulele. She joined hands with M. Ward in 2006 to release “Volume One”, their debut album.
