American model Christy Nicole Turlington Burns was born on January 2, 1969 in Walnut Creek, California to parents Dwain Turlington and María Elizabeth. She started her modeling career after she was discovered by local photographer Dennie Cody in Miami, Florida. When she turned 16, she worked as a part-time model while studying at Monte Vista High School.
