Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper, better known as Cyndi Lauper, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and LGBT activist. She was born on June 22, 1953 in Astoria, New York, United States. One with a career that has spanned over 30 years, she had her solo album debut She’s So Unusual in the year 1983.
The said album was the first debut female album to chart four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Her hit singles such as “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, “Time After Time”, “She Bop”, and “All Through the Night” were the songs that led her to win the Best New Artist award at the 27th Grammy Awards in the year 1985.
Cyndi has never really been into so many relationships before. She was linked romantically to David Wolff during the past but their relationship did not last that long. At present, she is happily married to actor David Thornton. They started dating in the year 1989 and eventually they tied the knots on the 24th of November 1991. Together they are blessed with a son named Declyn Wallace Thornton Lauper.
