American actress Jessica Michelle Chastain was born on March 24, 1977 in Sacramento, California to parents Jerri and Michael Hastey. At seven, she became interested in acting when she witnessed the production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In 2004, she officially became a stage actress when she was cast on productions Rodney’s Wife and The Cherry Orchard.
The same year, she gained her first screen performance when she was cast in an episode of ER and played the role Dahlia Taslitz.
