The sister of Rhys Castle-Hughes, Liam Castle-Hughes, Quade Castle-Hughes, and Maddisyn Castle-Hughes, she is the daughter of Desrae Hughes and Tim Castle. She started to appear on screen as an actress in the year 2002, playing the role Paikea on the flick Whale Rider. Since then, she appeared on various films. In the year 2004, she received the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards Best Young Actor/Actress. She also won the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards Promising Performer during that time.
