She was first seen on screen as an actress in the year 1993 when she was cast on the TV program Victim of Love: The Shannon Mohr Story for a minor role. She became notable when she was cast on the TV series Melrose Place from 1993 to 1997, playing the role Sydney Andrews. Throughout her career, she also became known for her appearances on the TV program Eyes by which she acted the main role Leslie Town. Presently, she appears on Pretty Little Liars, playing the role Ashley Marin.
Laura is happily married to American actor Doug Savant. The two of them started dating in the year 1997. They eventually got married in May 1998. The two of them are blessed with two children namely Jack Douglas Savant and Lucy Jane Leighton Savant. Jack was born on October 10, 2000 while Lucy was born on June 9, 2005.
