Melanie Janine Brown, better known as Mel B, is a British recording artist, songwriter, dancer, actress, author, TV presenter, talent competition judge, and model. She was born on the 29th May 1975 in Harehills, Leeds, England. She became prominent for her involvement with the popular British girl group “Spice Girls”, being constantly labeled as Scary Spice. The “Spice Girls” started around 1994 and eventually boomed years after. In 2000, she decided to take a solo career, signing with Virgin Records and making her track “I Want You Back” an instant hit. Nowadays, Mel remains popular and prominent in the industry. She also works as one of the judges of the reality talent show The X Factor UK.
Mel had a serious relationship with the Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar from 1998 to 2000. On September 13, 1998, they tied the knots after she got pregnant with their child Phoenix Chi Gulzar. Their marriage, however, did not last as they got divorced in the year 2000.
Later on she had a prominent relationship with actor Eddie Murphy which created a stir on tabloids. She also got involved with film producer Stephen Belafonte and together they got married in 2007 in Las Vegas. She gave birth to their child named Madison Brown Belafonte in 2011.
