Enrique Martín Morales, famously known as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto-Rican singer, musician, actor, and author. He was born on December 24, 1971 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to parents Nereida Morales and Enrique Martín Negroni. Prior to fame, Ricky started off as a commercial model in Puerto Rico. Eventually, he landed her first step towards fame when he auditioned as a member for the Puerto Rican boy band called “Menudo”. It was in 1984 when he officially became a member of the said band. Meanwhile, he started to become an actor in 1991 when he was discovered by a producer. He then appeared in a number of TV series while he made a successful solo career in music.
For over 14 years, Ricky had on and off relationship with Rebecca de Alba, a Mexican TV host. Despite the long length relationship they’ve shared, it didn’t work out for them and it unfortunately didn’t end up in church.
Later on, particularly in 2010, the Puerto Rican singer-actor publicly claimed his homosexuality and acknowledged his relationship with the economist Carlos González Abella in 2011 during his speech at the 22nd GLAAD Media Awards. When they decided to call their relationship quits earlier this year, Martin remained single and was known to support the same-sex marriage when he was interviewed on the Larry King Live. However, even when he’s single, he seems to be happy because of his two sons namely Matteo and Valention who were born through surrogacy.
