William J. Dafoe, better known as Willem Dafoe, is an American actor, voice actor, and model. He was born on July 22, 1955 in Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. He started to appear on screen as an actor in the year 1979, portraying a significant role on Sixteen. In 1986, he was seen on Platoon and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor as well as the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. He was also nominated for Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male in the year 1990 when he apepared on Wild at Heart as Bobby Peru. In 2000, he earned multiple awards and nominations because of his impressive performance on Shadow of the Vampire.
Willem is happily married to Italian film director and actress Giada Colagrande. They started dating after they met in Rome. After a year of dating, they decided to settle down. They tied the knots on March 25, 2005.
